01 / Project overview
Improving an established payment platform.
RentPayEasy is an online rent payment platform that supports electronic payments, including card payments and eCheck/ACH.
My role focused on enhancing its existing payment capabilities rather than developing the entire website. I integrated Stripe functionality for automatic platform fee sharing and upgraded the existing eCheck integration after its previous implementation stopped working.
The work required direct communication with payment APIs using PHP cURL, allowing the existing PHP application to interact with external payment services without relying on a dedicated SDK.

02 / The challenge
Payment functionality that needed attention.
The existing application needed Stripe functionality to support automatic platform fee sharing as part of its payment workflow. The integration had to work within the existing PHP application.
At the same time, the previous eCheck integration had stopped working and needed to be upgraded to a newer version to restore the required functionality.

Rather than using a dedicated PHP SDK, I used PHP cURL to send HTTP requests directly to Stripe's API. This approach allowed me to implement the required payment functionality within the existing PHP application.
